Pig Island, which was originally known as Koh Madsum, is a secluded paradise off the coast
of Koh Samui. You will find Mr. Kitt on the island; he and his family run a small beach pub. It
is a great location to enjoy solidarity, take pictures, and socialize with Thai locals.
How to Get to Koh Amdsum Island
Honestly, reaching this little paradise is not a walk-over type thing, but a force to reckon with.
There are three plausible options:
– With a traditional fishing boat
– Via a traditional long-tail fishing vessel in a small group of visitors.
– By speedboat
By Speedboat
This is a fancy, comfortable, fast, and modern means of getting to the island.
With the three options, you can experience the soothing atmosphere of Pig Island with family and/or friends on your private trip. In this case, you need to book a speedboat or a long-tail boat for a private group.
Bonus activity: snorkeling
As you approach coral reefs, you may jump into the warm waters for snorkeling. This is not
the best snorkeling site, but you will still have a credible experience.
Docile Pigs on Pig Island
Pigs are an unusual sight on the islands; it is hard to expect or encounter pigs paddling and sunbathing
on a beach.
Well, the credit here goes to Mr. Kitt and his family. He happened to have compassion on
four pigs that were on sale; he bought them. That’s how the pigs got to paradise.
Mr. Kitts “pets” are passive and they always mind their own business.
The pigs are not aggressive and they wont harm you. Still, the pigs may wander and sniff around in
search of food; so stay focused not to bump into them.
Scenic sight
Feel free to capture images and videos of pigs burrowing in the sand as they look for food.
